SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team, with the role based in Edmonton and reporting to the Interim Chief Human Resources Officer. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing a range of HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment, benefits, onboarding, and employee relations, across both Canada and the US. This position requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and organizational skills to effectively support our dynamic and growing team.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviewing, and hiring processes. Prepare source documentation for new hires.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits plans and liaise with Payroll on changes and updates.
  • Leave Management: Oversee all types of leave, including WCB, disability, maternity, etc.
  • Employee Records: Maintain accurate electronic employee files and update organizational charts as needed.
  • HR Projects: Initiate and support various HR projects and provide guidance on relevant training.
  • Employee Relations: Assist with discipline-related issues, investigate and resolve employee relation matters, and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate record-keeping and system maintenance for private personnel data.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education & Experience

  • Certificate or diploma in Human Resources.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a medium-sized business.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and state employment and human rights laws in both Canada and the US is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Dayforce preferred.
  • Must already be legally entitled to work in Canada.
